FOLKLORIC ENSEMBLE “ERA”

The Civic Association "Era" was founded in 2002 as a non-governmental, non-profit organization with the aim of preserving and promoting our national heritage. The association preserves and disseminates the traditional culture of the people of its region, as well as from different parts of Serbia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Over the years, ERA has brought together a large number of dancers, the choreographers of Era have created numerous choreographies, and the ensembles and singing groups have performed in numerous concerts and festivals. The "Era" Association currently includes the following ensembles (groups): three folklore ensembles (of different age groups), eight dance school groups, two singing groups, and one folklore orchestra. "Era" currently has about 380 members.

 

Thanks to the research and high-quality creative work of its members, the ensembles achieve great success in presenting the richness of Serbian folk tradition

 

Over the years, the "Era" Ensemble has received numerous awards and recognitions for its choreography, folklore ensembles, acting talent, traditional singing groups, and orchestra for musical creation. "Era" has participated in numerous national and international events and festivals, including festivals in Bulgaria, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Slovenia, Portugal, France, Romania, Turkey and Italy.

 

"Era" also organizes the International Children's Folklore Festival "Licidersko srce," which has made not only the city of Užice famous but the entire region.

 

 

The artistic director of the first ensemble is choreographer Goran Paunović; the second ensemble's director is choreographer Vlastimir Veljović; the artistic director of the children's ensemble is Ivana Cvetković, and the artistic director of the folklore orchestra is Darko Ćitić. The president of the "Era" Association is Gordana Paunović.

Awards for the KUD Sevojno program, for joint choreographies:

  • Gold Plaque from the Serbian Amateur Federation (1994 and 2000)

  • Golden Opanak for first place at the Worker’s Dance Festival of Serbian Cultural and Artistic Societies (1994)

  • Silver Plaque from the Serbian Amateur Federation (1996 and 2002)

  • Bronze Plaque from the Serbian Amateur Federation (2004 and 2006)

  • Special recognition from the Serbian Amateur Dance Association to Vlastimir Veljović and Goran Paunović for the most successful choreographic performance in the republican competition

  • Silver Opanak at the Golden Opanak Festival in Valjevo (2007)

 

Awards for the ERA Užice Civic Association program, for joint choreographies:

  • Gold Plaque from the Serbian Amateur Association at the Serbian Children’s Folklore Ensemble Competition (2007)

  • Best Choreography Award at the Dolovo Children’s Festival (2007)
